Talk about one or more of the Resistance readings. What were your feelings? Connections? Thoughts?
I knew the Jews did uprisings in places but I’ve always wondered where! On this topic, I feel like the Jews were brave. They stood up for themselves and many other Jews in the concentration camps. That’s much more brave than uprisings at the ghetto. I can’t imagine what they did to the Jews after they tried to fight back. I didn’t realize the Jews would be more scared to stand up at the ghettos. In the article it was talking about how the Jews didn’t want to stand up and it was harder for them to make a decision because they thought the Nazis would make their conditions worse. But I was glad they did stand up when they knew the Nazis would kill every Jew. A connection to my life would be when I know something wrong is going on and I stand up. I was watching these kids in my neighborhood bully this little boy at the park. I knew it was wrong. I took a stand for the victim and helped him get away from the bullies. Each Jew would stand up altogether and plan together. If they knew what was going on, they were going to do anything to survive. In the article it talks about how inmates would turn in their mother for a potato. In the Warsaw Ghetto, the Jews knew that if they were going to uprise it was now or never. They were squeezed together and they had barely any water or food. They were tired of it and wanted to stand up for what they knew was right.
