Hope keeps you going.

“My fears have returned. And yet my hope, my dream, of a world free of human cruelty and violence has not vanished.”- Page 11

This quote is saying, even though things you don’t what to happen, you should still hope. Don’t stop trying to achieve your goal or dream because things get in the way. Hope can get you through a lot of problems and just life in general. If you give up right away, you’ll never accomplish anything. I’ve learned that if you keep hoping, and keep believing, you can accomplish almost everything. The quote is  saying even though the stuff they fear came back, they’re gonna keep fighting. Until there is a world filled with good and there is no more violence. If they gave up right away, nothing would get accomplished.

This quote can connect to a lot of things. For example, you need hope for The Hunger Games. When the people got put into that arena, they were probably really scared and nervous. But they kept fighting until the end. The people who gave up, got killed. The people who kept hoping and trying, made it far. They were scared, but nothing got in their way of making it to the top. But if you gave up, you’re not trying anymore and you give in to the enemy.  Hope is important. You need to always hope even on something as little as math homework. If you mess up, and give in, you aren’t learning anything. You’ll learn from your mistakes, which is why you should always keep trying and hoping. During the Holocaust if you gave up, you would die. You need to hope for the big things, and the little things, but not too much, because too much hope can be dangerous.
